This book encourages us to stop at the foot of the cross and let the work of the cross move from our heads to our hearts. The author gives reasons why there can be no other way to the Father’s forgiveness but through the Cross. In Matt. 27:27-46 we hear Jesus cry out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” as judgment was meted out. Because He was obedient to death on the Cross, the author devotes a whole chapter to the fact that the power of death has been destroyed for believers. Each chapter has questions at the end to help its reader reflect on the mystery of Jesus death and resurrection…..to the wise it is foolish…but to believers it is the power of God unto salvation. The ground is level at the foot of the Cross and a line is drawn in the sand. Each person has a choice to make..by faith to receive the atonement for sin made there or to walk away unmoved.
This is a timely book to read now as we are approaching the Easter season. To stop and gaze at the Cross and the mystery therein contained is time well spent. This book will give its reader truths to consider as they reflect on what Easter is all about.
